When Stripes Meets Magenta

Hello Everyone!

Fashion is something that is different to each one of us. One person’s idea of a beautiful outfit is another person’s fashion disaster. BUT as long as you express your personal sense of style and personality through fashion with confidence, you can do no wrong to yourself. Styling to me is putting together pieces that serves one’s need of outfit for a particular time or place.

When we see anything Pink, we automatically associate everything with compassionate, tender and romantic feelings basically everything feminine and girly. In my opinion, fuchsia is a grown-up version of pink which is sophisticated, feminine yet powerful on its own. In order to wear this ultra-feminine color, there are few things you need to know. The first, and perhaps the most important thing is to mix colors or prints wisely. For example: If you are wearing lighter shade of pink (dusty rose, baby pink, peach etc) pair it with white or gray for that soft and romantic vibes. If you are choosing magenta or fuchsia pink, pick black, white or other neutral tones to avoid the overall outfit to look like a Barbie doll. That being said, don’t be afraid to pair pink with bold colors and prints once in a while such as Pink & Green or Fuchsia Pink & Orange; after-all Kate Spade has taught us how to style two bold colors together all these years…hasn’t she?

Pink is an incredibly dynamic tone and they never really go out of the season. Although we always incorporate pink in our fashion any time of the year, the key is to find the right tones for the right season. Last fall, Pantone Color Institute published the top 10 color for Spring 2017 from a fashion designers use of color in their spring collections where you can see blush pink (pale dogwood), and fuchsia (pink yarrow) are on their top 10 list. Click on this link to find out what other colors will be on trend this year: https://www.pantone.com/fashion-color-report-spring-2017. Now you know which colors to wear this spring season! 🙂 Anywho, it’s needless to say that pink still dominates the women fashion world and as a girl, I couldn’t be more proud to add more of such feminine and powerful color in my wardrobe.

Friday Style: Mustard Mix with Frilled Bodysuit

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great Diwali/Tihar. After sharing traditional and get the look post, I wanted to share contemporary look with this statement mustard skirt and mock neck frilled bodysuit.

While every season has its charms, I have to admit that fall has always been my favorite. When I think of Fall look, I think of mustard yellow and burgundy, so on today’s post I am sharing my good ol’ mustard skirt pairing with a bodysuit; something I never tried before. Those days when I just don’t feel like wearing a ton of jewelries & accessories, I grab statement color like this one which gives ton of attention to my outfit that I don’t need any accessories.

I love mustard and black color combination so much. I’ve worn this skirt quite a few times on the blog but with lighter color crop top or with simple t-shirt. Today, I decided to switch up my typical t-shirt silhouette with a fun frilled bodysuit. I always hesitated to try bodysuits but now I am totally sold for anything that has to do with bodysuits. I must admit that blogging has really helped me come out of my comfort zone and try new styles.  If you wear skirts, high waisted jeans, and shorts a lot like I do, this sure is the investment-worthy purchase. They are versatile, effortless and best paired with any outfits. It helps balance the bottom outfit pieces without showing extra, fussy fabric and tucked in top problems. To keep myself comfy during the fall season, I chose my very first bodysuit long-sleeved. This can be paired not only with skirts or pants, but also with the sleeveless dresses or tops as a primary layer piece for a cold season ensemble.

I think I have found my new favorite pairing and layering piece for the cooler season. I believe that whatever your body shape or size is, bodysuits can be flattering for everyone and work so effortlessly & beautifully with any style you choose. Perfection does not exist, so I have learnt that if there is something you love it, you will definitely rock it! 🙂

Vintage Look: Off the Shoulder Top

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Sometime I get deja vu with fashion’s ever-revolving door. Do you get that too? Trends I thought were dead and long gone in the past have come back or lets say keep coming back. They come and go and they come back again. Phewww! Honestly, if you keep some of your current trendy outfits safe, I am pretty sure 15-20 years down the road your daughter/s will thank you for keeping a gem for them. haha  you should try and let me know! 😉

DSC_3081The off shoulder top, much like the flared jean, has been a simmering trend this summer. This is hands-down one of the biggest style trend this year. Even though off the shoulder trend is a 90’s return, it has brought new styles this time with more bohemian, effortless and over the top feminine vibe.

You can wear off the shoulder trend in any number of ways, whether you are going for a laidback look or  you want to glam it up a bit by adding heels and a structured bag. I wanted to try a retro inspired look so I paired my top with one of my favorite high waisted pleated skirt, classic nude pump and forever classy ray-ban sunglasses. I did a carefree hairdo and added a subtle jewelry to keep the whole look effortless yet put together. Not to mention the fact that this top wins for versatility, hence we can incorporate off the shoulder top style with so many other major summer outfits: Boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, high waisted shorts, pleated maxi skirts, midi skirts, culottes and the list goes on and on and on.

Get the Look for Less: Kendall Jenner’s Street Style

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!! 🙂

I am really not a fan of the Kardashians, however Kendall Jenner’s style has always been one of my favorites. I love her model off duty/street style looks and have been wanting to recreate one of them on my blog. Her outfits are super pricey so it was fun to show how I recreated similar look but for a lot less. Lets get started….IMG_0106Starting out with her denim shorts, I could not really find where hers was from but since these high waisted shorts are super trendy, you can pretty much get them in every clothing stores. My shorts is from Target and I thought they matched pretty well with hers; is only $22.50. IMG_0128IMG_0123My white top which looks very similar to hers is from Forever 21 which I actually had bought few years ago. I could not get the exact piece but found something very similar in their site on sale for $17.00. For boots, hers is super expensive from Saint Laurent; would cost you over $1800. I could not find affordable snake print booties, but I did have these in my closet and they are from Forever 21; definitely a fraction of what she paid for hers! Lastly finish off the look with a black structured minibag; hers is Celine micro luggage handbag which costs about $2300 (click here)but you can buy very similar like this one from Daily look for only about 50 bucks. Now to do the overall price comparison, her exact look costs over $5000, where mine would set you back just over $100. IMG_0118IMG_0119IMG_0117Lastly, Kendall’s look is incomplete without that classic straight center parted hair. 😉
